Developments

Some interesting news in the past couple of days:

-I got the quote for getting the bell cut on on my horn and I really hope that I'll be able to do it. Mainly because I really want to be able to take the horn and also because the people at Conn-Selmer really seemed excited (and almost eager) to donate that travel case. It would be rude of me not to let them do such a nice thing, right?

-I'm excited to say that I've been in contact with Terry Meiners and he has welcomed me onto his show to talk about the trip. I love getting the word out about this opportunity and I'm thankful to have the chance to share it with his audience. Plus, who wouldn't be excited about being on the Terry Meiners Show anyway?

-On the fundraising front, none of the corporate requests have come through yet, but I'm staying optimistic. While waiting for the panhandling to pan out, I've decided to sell some awesome natural slate coasters that I make. They are $10 for a set of four and all proceeds go to helping me go to Ghana. They make great gifts, just look at them.

Classy. Email me if you have any ordering questions.

-Also, if you have plenty of coasters around the house but still want to help, I've added a PayPal donation button to the blog, but please only partake if you really feel led to do so. I am not using this blog to ask for donations. I just wanted to put that there for anyone who maybe wanted to help. All I really want from this blog is to keep everyone up to date on everything.

-So, instead of ending this entry with me trying to avoid begging, I glad to report that today I found my Jamey Aebersold "Maiden Voyage" book and play-along CD. I really want to take it with me and try to teach some improv.
